The food is usually good. The only thing I think they could improve on is the speed of their service. Sometimes it takes forever for them to share out the food.

I have not been there pre pandemic. However I went there today and their Jerk pork was amazing. The right amount of seasoning and spice. I felt like I wanted seconds.

Jamaican food is really good!

Been here several times and the taste of the food is great only issue is the customer service and the lack of colslaw or veggies.. I wish Carribean cuisines could switch up the menu to have oxtail and salad or cooked vegetables as an alternative instead of rice n peas and no colslaw.. sadly inflation is increasing the prices on the menus so that will be a factor going forward but overall the quality of the food is good fresh and full of flavour and a nice touch of spice. That's the beauty of Carribean flavours not one restaurant will taste the same!!

For those of you like me who only care about the food then this is the place for you. The food tastes like it was made in Jamaica then teleported here. Food 10/10 .

Wow. One of the best serving of fried chicken that I've had in a while - flavourful and reasonable in portion.

Only negative: Cashier and servers are very disorganized (wait time was 20 minutes, and they forgot my order). Menu is not clearly displayed (always helpful to see items listed on a menu board).

Although I loved their fried chicken, I may go back.

Ordered the large Jerk Chicken w/ oxtail gravy. Unfortunately, it didnt come with coleslaw and wasnt offered, so Im not sure if they have any.

Portion was decent, chicken was tender, I wish there was more of a kick of heat.

Rice was was good, fluffy.

Oxtail gravy was really good, had a sweet taste that I dont normally love, but it was well balanced.

I got lucky and found two small pieces of oxtail under my jerk chicken. Oxtail was tender, lots of flavour.

The absolute best Caribbean food around. Jamaican food is one of my favorites. Since I travel around the GTA for work I have tried a number of different places. This is my favorite. I have tried their oxtail, goat, cow foot stew, King fish, jerk pork etc. All were exceptional. I don't know if it's grandma's handed down recipes or what but it's fantastic.

I questioned the quality of a large soup I bought the day before. A wonderful young lady named Dee took my complaint and without once questioning my assertions about the soup, she offered to replace it gratis. Better still, she did it with a natural and endearing smile that was unforced; it was natural. I'm convinced that's who she is normally.
As retired supervisor of customer relations at GO Transit, I think I'm qualified to give Dee five stars.

I always buy from twice as nice. I live in Pickering but always drive down to get their food. My mom got me on this place years ago. Today I paid $5.99 to order from uber eats and ordered curry chicken and got curry goat which I don't eat goat Its not a meat I will eat. I gave it to my co-worker. Uber refunded me thank God because i was not happy as its not cheap for a large and I didn't even eat it.

However this restaurant is still a great restaurant and has great food so they still get 5 stars:) because I know it was just a mistake. Just a request for the restaurant to double check items especially when its a delivery service because I didn't get my lunch today and I only ate a little rice and festival. None the less I still think your food is excellent every other time I've had it and so does everyone i introduce your restaurant to!

Large portions and tasty. Jerk chicken wasn't spicy but flavourful. Maybe they gave BBQ chicken? Doesn't matter it was good. Got red snapper, whole fish, it was spicy and fried perfectly. Rice and peas was fluffy and the gravy was excellent. Wish they put a little more on though. Colesaw was done right too. Service was good as well. Will come again.

My Boyfriend lives in the area and I have gone there a few times when I am in Scarborough. This is by far the best place I have eaten Caribbean food. I just wish they had more veggie options and more locations. This place is the best kept secret. Overall I recommend this place if you are looking for Authentic Carribean Food ! The service is exceptional as well they are always so helpful and very nice even on busy days.

Red peas soup is so good here , I would definitely go back , one of the few Caribbean spots I go to when Far East Toronto.

I only buy the cowheel / cowfoot soup on Wednesdays and Fridays and Thursdays their beef soup because that's what I like. I'm never had anything else. See what you'll like!!

This is a good spot! I ordered the fry chicken and the wife got the stew chicken. The chicken was tender and seasoned. The batter on the chicken was crispy. I would definitely order it again...

I ordered a mix of oxtail & cow foot with rice & peas. It tasted great! The rice & peas & oxtail was slightly sweet. Diabetics, double up on the insulin because it's worth it ? Lost a star as they are not pleasant while taking & giving orders.

Best Caribbean food I've had. I live in Mississauga and will drive all the way to scarbrough just to go to Twice as nice, the food is that good! The presentation of the food is on point, I feel like I get my money's worth. I've gone elsewhere, but no other restaurant compares to Twice as nice. I know when I open my container, the food won't look like I beg it, and the taste is going to be on point. Love their goat head soup on Saturday's too, I love soup, and that is the BEST goat head soup I've ever had. I was presently surprised with the quality and quantity of food I received from Twice As Nice. I ordered a couple of items off their menu through SkipTheDishes. The festival was nice and soft as well as their roti. Thumbs up!

Located at Kingston Rd and overture. It's one of the best Jamaican restaurants in Scarborough. The prices are affordable compared to other places and I've never been dissatisfied with my orders. I've been Going there since about 2008 when it was located in the plaza across from where it is now, between the convenience store and the bar. They've maintained their quality over the years and I'm pleased. Unfortunately it's not a place that you can sit down and enjoy Your meal. You gotta go home or sit in your car. I still give it 5 stars because the flavor and portions are amazing compared to others in the city.

This far exceeded my expectations! Let me start by saying I've seen the mix reviews for this spot and I was concerned. I needed to investigate for myself.
Here's the honest truth. The jerk chicken is unbelievable. When I cracked the box I thought I was going to be disappointed because you can clearly see the chicken isn't dark. I prefer my chicken heavily jerked, with burned crispy bits, but that's just me. I was expecting bland and to my surprise this chicken really got me thrilled. The flavor is so balanced. I can see why they are not hiding behind a heavy jerk seasoning. The chicken was so juicy and delicate. I really wanted to order seconds but had to refrain. I could have locked the container.
The service was splendid. The lady behind the counter was friendly and in good spirits. I read several complaints about rude service but I imagine if it's the lunch rush nobody has time for chitchat. This place is so good they often sellout the lady next to me explained. If you enjoy Carribean definitely try their jerk. I'll have to try some of their other dishes next visit.

Don't be alarmed when you walk in, I don't think they got robbed. They just don't have any tables or chairs. I didn't ask what was the deal, they have a large open space with just carpet runners leading you to the cashier to place your order.

I ordered the medium jerk chicken meal with rice and peas and coleslaw. The portion was generous. The chicken was mildly spiced for my taste but was done very well. The rice and coleslaw were delicious. The hot sauce was very tasty and not overly spicy.

BEST CARRIBBEAN RESTAURANT IN SCARBOROUGH, HANDS DOWN !!! THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS AND EXCEPTIONAL EVERY TIME. The goat soup on Saturdays is amazing with sooo much goat tripe yummy. I don’t know why people rated this place down based on time to get food, yes no one wants to wait in line- Butt the line is a reflection of how GREAT THE FOOD IS....rather that then go get not so good food in an empty establishment.

Love the food and service, it reminds me of back of back home, with a truly Caribbean taste, look and feel.
Plus they cook and serve only fresh food daily, I like when they tell me there is no more of a dish and you have to come again just to get it nice and fresh, makes it twice as nice ;).

They are always busy and don't have time to take calls cause they're taking orders from non lazy people who can come in and order their food.

The food here is amazing. Some of the best in Scarborough probably. All my stars are for the food and the owner who is super helpful and accommodating.

The front of house staff and absolutely terrible and should not be allowed to serve people food. They're rude and just throw things together. They don't care what you ordered they will sub it for something if they're out. Don't bother placing a catering order either because it will just be ignored, late and then you'll get yelled at for not accepting something you didn't order.

The store owner happened to be around and resolve my issue but this wasn't the first time I've had a problem with the service here.

Oxtail tasted great. Only reason for the missing last star is I had to wait for longer then I should have. Next time I go if its different I will up the star .

Amazing food! I've been to a few Jamaican fast food places and the food here and the portion sizes for the price are great. The only thing is there is nowhere to sit and eat-in and it gets super busy during the evenings and weekends. So prepare to wait a little bit if you come at those times. However, it's a must try for anyone who loves Jamaican food.

My go to place for Jamaican food., been here over 100 times. Only disappoint twice. I usually order stew steak( my favourite) it's actually real steak cut up; the only Caribbean restaurant I know that offers real steak. Or sometimes I get the curry chicken and stew chicken. I've tried almost everything on their menu. The food is delicious ; they do use a lot of ginger in their food which I like. They give hefty portions . I almost always get a small and I'm I always stuffed. The convienece store beside the restaurant offers drinks for .50 cents. I always grab. The downside to this restaurant is it is strictly take out. No tables or washroom. They are usually busy ; wed-sat;Long lines. But they move fairly quick. I would say this is the best Caribbean restaurant in gta. They open early which I like. 10:30 am. Nice ackee and salt fish. The best hot sauce I've ever had. You can also buy a bottle for $7. There prices are reasonable. Like I said not cheap with the servings. Definitely recommend for an evening at home or quick lunch on the road.

Service is definitely slow but food is worth the wait. It's my go to caribbean food spot, food is tasty at a good price. Has a lot of in and out traffic of people. Also try serve chicken and waffles which are so good. Would recommend to try if you were in the area.

The ambiance in this restaurant is quite basic and you're not able to dine in. Don't let that fool you because their food makes up and exceeds all expectations!

I had an order of rice and peas with ox tail and cole slaw. The cole slaw was absolutely perfect. It was flavourful but not overwhelming and there was plenty of it! It complimented the rice perfectly! I was quite disappointed by the rice and peas however. It was quite bland and some of it were clumped together as if it's been kept in the fridge overnight. However, the gravy from the ox tail really enhanced it. It gave the rice flavour and taste and it tasted as good as new! This was some of the best ox tail I have ever tried! It was very tender as how it should be but the flavour exceeded all expectations. The quality of the ox tail was very rich and tasted very authentic. *highly recommended!* I had a taste of my friend's jerk chicken and it was juicy and rich in flavour!

The service was great! However, I waited about 15 minutes for the food. There was only one person doing the final preparation and packaging of the food and that made the finalization process very slow. But they were very polite and loved to smile which made me feel great!

The price for my medium meal was just above $10 and the small jerk chicken was $7 which is fair.

Great place if you want some great authentic Caribbean cuisine!!

Been wanting to try this place out for a while now especially since I live nearby and was finally able to, thanks to my friend. Place is extremely casual and the staff are friendly. One had complimented Ms. Kathleen's homemade pineapple and ginger drink and after having a sip, I was in sold! Definitely give this a try when you're there and if there are any in stock.

Oxtail - Had the oxtail with rice and peas, which is probably my fave Jamaican dish so I'm a little picky. Theirs seemed to have a little bit of a sweet flavour with some nice heat at the same time. I couldn't pinpoint from what exactly but it was good. The meat was also nice and tender. One thing though is that the pieces were small and I got quite a lot of bones. Thankfully, you get a good helping of oxtail. Wish they'd add more gravy, though. 4/5.

Coleslaw - This was one of the best I've tasted. Just the right amount of creaminess to it with the perfect crunch. 5/5.

Festival - Love me some festivals and theirs was quite good. Definitely something I'd go back for and next time, I'll add some gravy on the side to dip in. 5/5.

Pineapple and Ginger Drink - As mentioned, I was in heaven. This is great to simply quench your thirst as it's very refreshing, especially with the bit of slush. I still have some left and although the slush will be gone, I'm sure it'll taste just as good. A MUST try when you're here. 5/5.

I'm baaaack! And it was awesome once again! Ignore Jr, this place is still great. I don't think they deliver, so he's probably got the wrong place, but I could be wrong.
Like I've said before it's always the fried chicken and oxtail for me, but on my last visit I couldn't resist the jerk chicken, which looked and tasted fantastic.
If you like things even more spicy than the Jamaican standard, they have the most amazing fresh, house-made Scotch bonnet pepper sauce, and I absolutely guarantee that stuff will make it hot enough. I douse it on heavy and then enjoy my meal with tears trickling down my cheeks.

I know I know , there is no seating area at all. The customer service is lackluster but I mean in their defence the place is always busy. Which usually means the food is amazzzing!

I used to always jus get fried chicken and my bf jerk chicken. Well I found out via another yelper you can do mixes. *mind blown*
Most places would never let you have two options and if so mayb two types of chicken but that's it...so I took full advantage here
I got half oxtail and half fried chicken w xtra oxtail gravy on my rice & peas.
The oxtail was definitely the right amount of sweet and savory. Seasoned to perfection and lol pieces of fall of the bone meat in the gravy to add flavour to the rice the way it should be .
My niece got curry goat which she absolutely loved. She said it was quite spicy but still sat there eating it all through the complaints lol. She loved it.
Last but not least the bf got half fry and half jerk chicken w rice n peas and oxtail gravy.
Chicken was fried to perfection the skin nice and crunchy full of flavour and the flesh well seasoned.
We all got medium plates which were the size large that we get else where and actually filled till it could barely close. I mean is it Christmas or ....
I am clearly one happy girl.

Best Ox Tails Curry Goat and Soup of the Day. Been goin there since 2006. I love it. Big Up 2 Twice As Nice

Excellent customer service, the venue is okay. Unfortunately there’s no place to sit down and eat. Food is amazing from oxtail to fish and plantain. The thing that makes this place special is that they give a big portion of whatever you’ve ordered wether that’s chicken or oxtail. Twice as Nice always give you large portion of food. So in the end your getting your money’s worth.

Thumbs up Twice as Nice on the taste of the food and portion size!! Only concern i have is that according to food handling standards, all servers nails need to be trimmed at an acceptable level. So please ask your servers not to wear nail extension as that isnt hygienic.

Food amazing here everything on the menue taste amazing. Expect a line up if you go around lunch time... the soups are always good and different options daily.

Food is 10/10. My favourite place for oxtail... not as meaty as some other places, but the flavour is PERFECT. I get their oxtail gravy on my rice no matter what I'm getting that day. Great jerk chicken and snapper too. Service can be slow and they seem to run out of things often. Go early and never be in a rush, or you may be disappointed. Think island time. Not a sit-down joint, more grab and go.

Tastiest jerk chicken in GTA. Chicken is bbq fired grilled so you can taste that famous smoky flavor. Coleslaw is on point, rice never taste soo good. Overall amazing food. One thing though they need some chairs and table to sit in and eat. They have the space for it. Love this joint.

This is the best place for ox-tail rice and peas I have ever had.. Their BBQ chicken, BBQ jerk chicken and jerk chicken is also the best as well...

We ended up here as our usual Jamaican spot was closed for "vacation" lol.

AS we had a large order for the office, we expected that it would take a bit of time. The orders included: fried chicken, jerk chicken, stew chicken, oxtail, festival, curry chicken and rice n' peas.

The chicken dishes were all pretty good. Nicely spiced and decent portions. The oxtail was a bit pricey and a bit sweet for my liking. If we go back, I probably wouldn't order the oxtail again as I prefer a more savoury oxtail stew. Overall, its a good spot for lunch. Always busy.

The people who work there aren't the friendliest but efficient.

Give it a try if you're in the area- they have lunch specials daily.

Best jerk chicken in toronto!

Absolutely the best for jerk chicken in the gta for me. Not going to ruin it with more words. I've stopped everywhere it says Jerk the last 15 yrs. Absolutely the best I've had.

There are plenty of places to get Jamaican food in the area, but Twice as Nice is probably the best. Their chicken tastes the closest to oil drum cooked chicken that I have had from a restaurant. It's pretty hard to find someone in Toronto actually cooking the chicken in a drum, especially in winter, so this is my go to place for jerk. The extras like rice'n'peas, coleslaw, festival, and plantain are all good, too.
There can be a lineup, and we all know how fast Caribbean service isn't, so you might have to wait a while. Because of the popularity of this place, it is not uncommon for them to start running out of some dishes by 7pm, so be forewarned.
Me, I don't care about the line, the lack of ambience, the tight parking lot. When I want my jerk, roti, goat, fry chicken, oxtail, whatever, I will tough out the line and then happily stuff my face.

Let me start off by saying I have tried many many Caribbean restaurants in Durham & Toronto And have tasted some good food. But today was my first time trying twice as nice. I had Fried chicken,rice with coleslaw, and it's the best I have tried...I was very impressed, I could tell with confidence that they have raise my bar plus service is also fantastic and they really live by their name!!! . Keep up the good work and please open up another branch in the east end!!

I wanted good jerk chicken and it was suggested that I come here. The service was pretty friendly, and I really liked the Jerk chicken. It had a lot of different flavours and different tones. I enjoyed the hot sauce they give with the chicken, it had that great mixture of sweet and spicy which makes food really good. I want to eat here again, I really liked it.

Best bbq chicken and fried chicken. Servers are friendly but service can be slow at times. I've been going to this place for years and they have never disappointed me with their food! I always stop in when I'm in Scarborough xoxo

With these small places, it's hard to get good quality food consistently. This place has done it every time. It's a small take-out place, so don't expect a host of waiters and a customer service department, just really good, fresh food. My wife and I love the place because we always know that we're getting quality. If you like Jamaican food, or just good food, this place is definitely worth a try.

Best chicken. Rice and peas with gravy was awesome and the coleslaw was perfect. I tired Jerk King down the road last night and Twice As Nice killed it. Only wish they had some fried plantain.

I have visited every Jamaican joint that gets recommended on Yelp, and for years now, this place absolutely lives up to their name, nobody can touch Twice As Nice!
My personal faves include:
- their incredible oxtail with rice and peas, dark brown with just a hint of sweetness, and a generous portion of buttery tender meat.
- Fantastic J-style fried chicken legs, perfect for soaking up lots of their amazing homemade scotch bonnet pepper sauce, which is smokin' hot but fresh and fruity and delicious.
- excellent jerk chicken, of the dark mahogany oven roasted chicken variety, always very moist and tender, with a decent kick, but not face meltingly hot.
- uber-flaky spicy beef patties, that are really very very good.
I've heard great things about the curried goat and stew beef, but I always end up with the oxtail and chicken.
All in all, absolutely the best Jamaican food in the city in my personal opinion, served up by beautiful, sweet, smiling, friendly staff, what more could you ask for?
Just go, you'll thank me later.

Easily the best Jamaican food in Scarborough if not trying Toronto. Try to find someone matching there fried chicken on white rice with oxtail gravy. They always good reggae music playing and someone to sell you dvd's for cds. Cornerstone in the community. Cheers

Best place for authentic Jamaican food. Taste just like good from back home in Jamaica. Oxtail is probably one of the best in t dot, their jerk chicken is so nice oh my. I travel here all the time. Was cheesed when they were closed to relocate literally across the street, but I'm glad they're open again. When they were closed, I found another authentic Jamaican food spot that's almost as good as twice as nice. It's named p jays take out.

We were driving by and thought we'd stop and give it a try. Even though they were minutes from closing we got our orders of jerk chicken in. I'm so glad we did because it was the best I've had since moving here. It was tender and tasty with great flavour. We will definitely be making the drive to try out more of their menu.

One of the best Jamaican food spots in the city. Sunrise can't touch this place. Line was almost out the door, but shows that the food is good. If there was no line, then I would be worried. Huge servings of food that came out of the kitchen when I ordered. Gave him a $10 and got change back. Only place I go besides Gramps & Elaine for my oxtail...
